The Aechmea 'Blue Rain' bromeliad features a spectacular blue, white and red spear standing up from the foliage. The bloom will last in between four to six months, depending on proper care, before gradually drying out. While it cannot produce another flower from that offset, it can grow separate offsets once the original flower dies off, and the foliage will continue to live.
Light: Bright, but not direct light
Watering: Pour water gently into the central cup, it should be about quarter full. The cup acts as a resevoir, and the bromeliad will drink the water gradually over the course of a week. Keep the compost a bit damp.
Humidity
They like a steamy environment. Bathrooms are ideal, but other rooms are OK as long as they get a misting every few days.
