Philodendron scandens -- has large, heart-shaped matte green leaves It's from Southeast Asia and can climb trees up to 3 metres in the wild. It is an epiphyte, meaning it has aerial roots that hook on tree branches as it climbs. This plant comes on a moss pole, and its errant vines can be trained to climb further up shelves or ledges, as you like.
- Light: Moderate light levels. Bright indirect light is best, but this plant is very tolerant and will work most places in the home.
- Water: Water generously when the surface of the compost feels dry to the touch. Allow the plant to get a bit drier in winter, and in summer, it should always be a little damp.
- Feed: Apply a weak general purpose fertiliser during the summer.
