This bundle shows off some of the unusual shapes and textures found in nature. The leaves of the velvety Zebra Plant open in the morning and curl up at night, the Cheese Plant cuts a dramatic figure with its curvy-holey leaves , and the bright Vriesea bromeliad throws a striking shadow.
The dimensions below show pot size, width x height. Plant Care
Monstera Deliciosa -- Swiss Cheese Plant or Split-leaf Philodendron (16.5cm x 14cm)
Light: Best in bright but indirect light. OK in a semi-shaded spot. You'll know it's in the right spot because the new leaves will come out with great big splits and holes in them. If it's too dark, the new leaves will be filled-in, and grow from the base. The beautiful leaves can get dusty, which makes it harder the plant to absorb light, so give them a gentle wipe if they look grubby.
Water: Leave to dry out a little between waterings. Water whenever the top two inches of soil feel dry.
Humidity: Likes a moist atmosphere. Mist every few days, especially when the central heating is on.
Calathea Zebrina -- Zebra Plant (13.5cm x 12cm)
Light: Diffused or dappled light -- behind a transluscent curtain or east/west facing frosted glass window
Water: Keep soil damp at all times, but do not allow the plant to sit in water or in very wet soil. Think little and often as a watering policy.
Humidity: High humidity levels are a must. Stand on a wet pebble tray to improve humidity and mist frequently. Good in a shower room.
Vriesea 'Vision' (hybrid cultivar)-- "Joshua's Vision" Bromeliad (12.5cm x 11cm)
Light: Bright, but not direct light
Water: Pour water gently into the central cup, which should always be about a quarter full. The cup acts as a resevoir, and the bromeliad will drink the water gradually.
Humidity: They like a steamy environment. Bathrooms are ideal, but other rooms are ok as long as they get a misting every few days.
